Casting All Our Care on Him

Casting all you care upon Him; for he careth for you. I Peter 5:7 KJV

How many cares do the people of God try to bear on and in our own strength? It is a poor testimony for the saved of the Lord to always go around with care and worry on our brow.

Because we are fallen creatures, we all at times carry our burdens instead of casting them on our God. In the context of this verse, we are told to humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God.

We have to empty ourselves of our pride and admit that we cannot carry our burdens and care on our own. We want to be self sufficient and before we can cast our care, we must humble ourselves before God.

Another thing I notice is that our God is able to bear our burdens. We are told to cast our burden on Him because no burden is too much for Him.

Our verse also tells us that he careth for us. This is a thought too wonderful for me to comprehend completely. The thought that a holy, sovereign God would care for a worm such as I.

It is the grace of God that he would care for us. The God of this universe cares for mankind.

Sometimes we all feel as if those around us do not care, but there is never a time when our heavenly Father does not care.

Even when He allows troubles and cares to come our way, he does not love us less. So cast all, not some or part, but all your cares on the eternal God because He does care for you.

Never doubt His love and grace. Cast your care on Him and watch your burden roll away. Amen!
